Aurora

Aurora Aksnes was born on 15 June 1996 in Stavanger Norway. The name she is most commonly used for her professional work is Aurora and sometimes stylized with uppercase letters in the form of AURORA. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves, was released in May of 2015 by Decca Records to great approval of music bloggers and the media. The artist has already released two top-of-the-line covers Half the World Away by Oasis. Oasis to promote a Christmas ad by John Lewis and Nature Boy by Nat King Cole. She gained some further recognition via a blog post from Katy Perry where Perry endorsed her track Runaway. Enjoy her day. Aurora Aksnes' earliest musical memories are of discovering a piano hidden in her attic and being captivated by the sounds it produced. Jan Oystein Aksnes' parents May Britt Aksnes urged her to use music for personal growth, rather than for the purpose of making a living or as a hobby. The singer began to write her own songs. Bjork as well as Leonard Cohen are among her favourite composers. Her mother encouraged her to perform her songs in public, not to be famous, but to help others realize that they matter and how they can make a difference to make a difference in the world. The piano was first played by her when she was six years old and was writing her first song when she was nine. It was not until she turned 14 that she told her parents. Aurora has never imagined becoming a star. She says she just likes writing songs. The music she writes is how she feels about everything.
